About The Salty Pastor
Dr. Douglas Peake, the voice behind the Salty Pastor Podcast, brings a wealth of knowledge in theology and a passion for educating others.
Doug Peake, aka The Salty Pastor, believes “Jesus changes everything” and focuses on Jesus and how every person can know Him. His ministry started over 35 years ago in Kansas and now in Idaho. Dr. Peake is dedicated to coaching individuals in their faith journey through engaging and insightful discussions, preaching and discipleship.
Doug is also a lifelong learner. His wife says with a smile that he often is at his desk by 5:30 in the morning with lots of coffee. He reads the Bible and then the headlines, studying current events. Doug was ordained into the full time ministry in 1987, and has a BA in Bible (’87), MA in Education (’90) and A Doctorate of Ministry (’03).

As the Salty Pastor, Doug Peake pulls on all of these disciplines to come up with clear, understandable, and concise analysis of current events. He wants to empower you to think for yourself, see how faith fits into your life, and navigate the world with success.

Our goal is to provide a platform where challenging questions are not only welcomed but essential for growth.

Philosophy
Philosophy is the study of life. It forces you to ask the big questions. Why am I here, what is my worldview?
Theology
“Is there a God?” This question is the most important you will ever ask. The implications in your answer affect every area of your life. Everything you feel, everything you think, everything you believe, and everything you do will be impacted.
